What is Ubuntu?
The "why" behind my "what" and "how"
Ubuntu is an African indigenous philosophy and way of life. This Nguni Bantu term is rooted in the belief that individual sharing creates a universal bond that connects all humanity.
“I am because we are”
There are many principles of expressions of Ubuntu. Here are a few of them:

Humanity is communal
We are each other's keeper
We are better together
We are unique individuals connected to each other and the world around us. Our thoughts, words, actions and patterns affect others. We are a part of something bigger than our individual selves.
Our responsibility to each other begins with mutual respect, dignity, care, kindness and grace. From here, it can grow into the highest forms of connection and the different versions of love.
The importance of teamwork and a willingness to engage in this way. Within this is the belief that greater impact happens as a group, rather than as individuals. This is fueled by mutual trust.
Ubuntu does not see individual differences in culture, background, circumstances or physical characteristics as elements for division, or opportunities to take advantage or consume others. Rather, Ubuntu is fully realized when individual differences are celebrated as elements of variety for connection. The outcome is the richest human experience possible.

Ubuntu is the perspective that informs what I do and how I do it.
